Imphal, August 07 2009: Secretary to the Chief Minister of Manipur, PK Singh today clarified that the Chief Minister did not at all utter "Hatpa nattana atei pambei leite (there is no other way than killing)" in the legislative assembly.

The statement quoted the Chief Minister as saying "Hatpa nattana atei pambei leite" in one Manipuri vernacular daily (not Hueiyen Lanpao) on July 24 .

The Chief Minister had been misquoted by the newspaper, the clarification added.
