Imphal, August 13, 2009: Sit-in-protest against the Khwairamband incident of July 23 has been staged at several places in Thoubal district today. Womenfolk of Women Welfare Association, Meisnam Kangjeibung have staged a sit-in-protest today at Charangpat Mayai Leikai Ima Market.

Slogans demanding the resignation of CM O Ibobi on moral ground, punishment against guilty policemen, and removal of AFSPA were shouted during the demonstration.

Similar sit-in-protest was also staged at Bengi Awang Leikai Waiting Shed, Icham Khunou Bazar, and Thokchom Awang Leikai Waiting Shed.

Protest was also staged at Sikhong Bazar.

Protestors displayed placards like �punish the guilty personnel,� �CM Ibobi resign,� etc during the sit-in-protest.
