Imphal, June 23 2010: Furious over deprivation of essential engine fuel, infuriated public prevented an oil pump from distributing fuel meant for allocation to some Government Departments, hospitals and private firms.

According to information received by the press, arrangements were being made for distribution of the allocated fuel quota to some Government Departments, hospitals and private firms at Jas Oil Pump, Uripok since yesterday and two oil tankers have been stationing there.

However, when efforts were being made today to distribute the allocation, a large number of infuriated public gathered and prevented unloading of the content insisting that the public should be provided the fuel as well.

Because of the strong opposition, the oil tankers could not unload the fuel till late into the evening.
