Imphal, May 02 2010: The MPP has demanded immediate review of the Government of India's consent for NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah's proposed visit to Manipur.

MLA RK Anand who is also spokesperson of the MPP questioned whether New Delhi allowed Muivah to visit Manipur after overlooking the massive people's movement of June, 2001 .

As the proposed visit of Thuingaleng Muivah to Manipur is illegal, the State Government should prepare an FIR to arrest the rebel leader once he sets foot on the soil of Manipur.

Muivah's visit to Manipur would be only stoking communal tension in the multi-ethnic society of Manipur besides posing a threat to the integrity of Manipur as Muivah has been working in the interest of a single community, Anand asserted.

He also expressed support to the position adopted by the State Government with regard to the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur.
