Imphal, May 27 2010: The joint Political Party Forum of Tamenglong district has described Minister Irabot's "Rath Yatra" to Noney as an attempt to earn cheap popularity and political mileage.

Vice president of the Forum, N Daimei stated in a press release that peace loving people of Noney in particular and the people of Tamenglong district in general stopped the so called "Rath Yatra" of FCS Minister Y Irabot at Noney due to his uncalculated move which ignores the sentiments of the people.

Instead of misjudging the people's sentiment, the Forum urged the government to concentrate more on issues such as providing adequate foodstuff to the people and maintaining peaceful co-existence among the different communities and organisations in the state.

The Forum appealed to all concerned that while earning cheap popularity to attain political mileage, all should also uphold the spirit of living together.

Therefore, the Forum urges all the peace loving and sensible people of Manipur to be on guard and remain aloof from irresponsible leaders, Daimei said.
