Imphal, March 06: Strongly reacting to a photo published on the March 5 issue of The Telegraph which showed some parts of Manipur as Nagaland, the Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has warned that if the Editor of the newspaper does not issue an apology within 15 days of the publication of this news item then The Telegraph will be banned indefinitely in Manipur.

In a statement, HERICOUN said that a map of the North East carried in the March 5 issue of The Telegraph showed some parts of Manipur as Nagaland with the areas marked by a red line and an arrow pointing to the specific sites.

This was nothing but to sow seeds of animosity amongst the people of the North East, said HERICOUN and reminded all that this has come about even as the tension over the inclusion of Lim demand in the election manifesto of the Nagaland Congress is yet to die down.
