Imphal, March 27: The four persons accused in the kidnapping and brutal murder of Lungnila Elizabeth were today produced before the Court of District Session Judge Manipur East for hearing the chargesheet filed by the CBI against them.

While advocate Khaidem mani represented accused Letsei Haokip alias James Kuki and Thokchom Nando as the defence counsel, advocates Moirangthem Birbal and Moirangthem Shittal were the defence counsels for the other two accused namely Ningombam Romen and Okram Deben alias Arnold.

Advocate Chandrajit is representing the CBI.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 3.It may be recalled that the then Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa's daughter Lungnila Elizabeth was kidnapped from near the gate of Little Flower school on November 4, 2003 before her lifeless body was found eight days later inside a sack at an Imphal West district area.

With the case handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the agency arrested all the said accused from different places.

Today's hearing is the third instance of the case with the earlier ones held on March 17, 18 and 27 .
