Imphal, September 19: Unidentified persons blasted a hand-grenade at the Tera Shadokpam Leikai residence of PWD's Superintending Engineer Khuraijam Temba Singh at around 1.30 pm today.

According to police report, the attacker/s lobbed the hand-grenade from the roadside which is adjacent to the boundary wall of the SE's residence.

With the exception of the explosive device landing at the court-yard and destroying a plastic water storage tank there is no human casualty.

Police later recovered the lever of a Chinese hand-grenade, reports said while adding that Temba was not at home when the incident occurred.

Soon after the explosion IRB personnel stationed as house guard observed an individual running away along the road and gave a hot chase with sporadic firing.

However, the individual managed to give slip to the security personnel, it added.
