Imphal, May 13 2010: Zilla parishad members and pradhans of four valley districts also joined in the people's support to the government stand on the barring NSCN(IM) leader Th Muivah in the state as sit-in demonstration and rally showing solidarity to the government going on in various places of the state.

The sit-in demonstration of the pradhan and zilla parishad members of Imphal east, Imphal west, Thoubal and Bishnupur district was carried out in front of the DC office Imphal east at Porompat.

Speaking to reporters, general secretary, Chirom Romeo of Manipur State Panchayat Parishad said that Muivah's proposed visit to his birthplace is not an ordinary visit but with an intention to disintegrate the territorial integrity of the state.

"We appreciate state government decision to ban him from entering the state" .

He also demanded that the Centre instead of intervening to the decision of the Manipur government, should find a way to convince Muivah.

Sit-in demonstrations supporting the government decision and decrying Central move to disintegrate the state were also staged at Brahmapur Nahabam Basket Ball Ground organised by the Society for Women Empowerment, Bachajpati Leirak, at Thoubal Leishangthem in Thoubal district, at Sekmai in Imphal west, at Khangabok Bazar, Pishum Thong Bazar etc.

Rallies were also carried out at Sekmai and Thoubal Leishangthem, reports said.
