Ukhrul, August 06 2009: Joining the outcry against the killing of Rabina and the fake encounter enacted by commandos at BT Road on July 23, the Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) has called a 24 hour Ukhrul bandh with effect from midnight today till the midnight of tomorrow.

The TMNL's 24 hour bandh is also against the Cabinet decision to deploy IRBs and commandos in hill districts and the harassment of villagers in Kamjong area by Kuki UG elements.

The TMNL is demanding immediate withdrawal of the Cabinet decision to deploy IRBs and commandos in hill districts as well as to check harassment of civilians by Kuki UG elements in Kamjong, reports our Ukhrul correspondent.
