Imphal, August 04: While asserting that the June 18 uprising was not against any particular communities but for the integration of Manipur, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has stated that all those who are proclaiming that the June 18 incident was against the Naga integration movement are connected with NSCN (I-M).

In a hard-hitting statement, secretary IPR of UCM Joy Chingakham said now is not the time for the people as well as the Govt to wait and see what the next course of action to be taken up by ANSAM because ANSAM and all those who are proclaiming that the June 18 incident was against the Naga integration are all connected with NSCN (I-M).

The acts of terrorism being perpetrated by ANSAM on the drivers along the National Highways in the name of enforcing economic blockade should have awaken the Government from its deep slumber.

When any civil society which took up democratic agitations could be charged with having connection with terrorist groups, why should the ANSAM be declared as terrorist, UCM asked.
