Imphal, July 04 2010: A man, who voted in favour of the Congress candidate in the recently concluded Autonomous District Council, was beaten up blue and black after kidnapped on Friday last, police said today.

Police came to know the incident only after the victim lodged complaint with the Churachandpur district.

In a complaint lodged by S Minthing son of S Saikho of Tuiringphai Sen village presently residing at a rented house at TP Road under Churachandpur police station, he alleged that one Chungreng along with his two friends abducted him from his rented house at about 9 am of Friday and took away in a auto-rickshaw to a house at Tuibong.

In their captivity, he was asked to disclose to whom he had casted vote in the recently concluded ADC election and when he disclosed that he voted in farour of Congress, he was subjected to torture.

He sustained injuries on his hands, legs.

Further, his abductors also threatened his younger sister Miss Abhi to bring Rs 5 lakh for his release failing which he would be killed.

They also threatened to kill if he happened to complaint about the non-payment of job card money of his sister to the authority, he alleged.
