Imphal, June 25: Spelling out a number of reasons, the Kuki National Organisation in an open missive addressed to the Chief Minister and the UNLF, has asserted that it will not allow the memorial tomb of the Meiteis, killed in the recent violence at Moreh, to be erected at the border town.

The open missive signed by the under secretary of Information and Publicity of the outfit, Stephen Kuki, said that though it would oppose the erection of the memorial tomb at Moreh the Govt may build the same at the valley area (which they termed as Manipur).

The outfit further said that the Govt (Meitei dominated) may go ahead and compensate the bereaved family members and provide jobs to the next of kins of the Meitei victims and urged the Kuki people not be disheartened by the communally biased announcement of the CM in favouring only the Meiteis.

At the appropriate time, the KNO will build fitting memorial tombs and grant compensation as well find jobs for the kins of the five Kukis killed by the UNLF.
