Imphal, November 16: The Manipur Catholic Women Organization has strongly condemned the kidnapping and subsequent killing of Lungnila Elizabeth by her kidnappers.

Sharing the pain and trauma of the bereaved family members, the organization also appealed to the Government to hunt down the killers and award them befitting punishment.

The Naga Students Community of Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi has condemned in the strongest terms the murder of Lungnila Elizabeth, an innocent class III student of Little Flower English School, Imphal.

Expressing its deepest condolence to the aggrieved parents and extending its full hearted support to the bereaved family members, the Naga Students Community stated that the killing can be seen as nothing less than a complete disregard for human life and values.

The students also urged the State authorities to book the perpetrators of the crime at the earliest and further asked all right thinking people to come forward and unequivocally condemn this dastardly act.

Describing the murder of Lungnila as an act of cowardice, Chiru Students Union, Manipur and Assam has also urged the Government to take up appropriate actions against the killers so that similar incidents may never happen again in the State.

The union also deeply condoled the death of the young child.

Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council Imphal HQ Wangkhei while strongly condemning the barbaric act has also urged the public to refrain from appealing for the release of suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Lungnila as it would hamper the ongoing investigation process, said a press release.

The Manipuri Student's Federation (MSF), Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur and All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) have jointly appealed to all the schools of Manipur to condole the brutal killing of Lungnila Elizabeth by observing a five minute silence in their respective class rooms from 12.45 to 12.50 on Nov 17 as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, the Charoikhulen Village Authority has clarified that Alar Thoitak is not the president of "Chiru Development Association" and all his allegations against Robby Chiru are false and baseless, said a press release.

The release besides clarifying that KC Robby is an active member of Charoikhulen Village Authority also urged the State Government to release Robby immediately.
