Imphal, February 12: Going on the offensive against the Congress, the State unit BJP said that the inclusion of the Lim demand in the election manifesto of the Nagaland Congress unit proves that the Congress party is only concerned about staying in power without any care for the people of the North East.

Claiming that the Congress is obsessed with only electoral politics, BJP State unit president H Borbabu recalled that during the visit of the then Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee to Nagaland he had made it clear that the territorial integrity of Manipur would be protected.

The stand of the BJP still stands, he asserted and added that the Congress is trying to take advantage of the situation in the region by adding the Lim clause in their election manifesto in Nagaland.

The very statement of the Congress leader Siddharth Patil betrays their made craze for power , claimed Borbabu and added that the BJP strongly condemns such stand and asserted that it would not budge from its earlier assurances to protect the territory of North Eastern States.
