Imphal, January 11: Lok Sabha MP and leader of the Manipur State Congress Party, Th Chaoba today endorsed the demand of the voters of eight assembly constituencies of Thoubal district who can vote in the Outer Lok Sabha constituency but cannot contest, for the creation of one more seat in the Rajya Sabha for the Thoubal district so as to right the wrongs perpetrated on them.

Chaoba was speaking during a public meeting at the YASTA Ground in Thoubal, organized by the Thoubal District Development and Demand Council on the occasion of its 5th foundation day.

He said the Delimitation Act of 1972 has deprived the citizen's right of these constituencies and this injustice needs to be raised before the country's apex court.

Chaoba said if the creation of one more seat in the Rajya Sabha is not acceptable, then the voters of the eight constituencies, including Jiribam, which are included in the Outer Lok Sabha constituencies, should be made to vote in the Inner constituencies where they can contest.
