Imphal, July 09: Even as the whereabouts of the two teenaged boys who have been kidnapped from Iroisemba area remain unknown, another student studying in class VIII at MM Higher Secondary School, Wangkhei was also reportedly kidnapped at gun-point by two persons on the way to school today.

The student, identified as Phandom Jayanta (13) s/o Ibotombi of Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak, however, was rescued and brought back home safely.

The incident occurred at around 9.30 am.

According to family members, Jayanta was on his way to the school when the two armed persons who were lying in wait in a Jeep they had brought picked up the boy.

When Jayanta did not respond when the two armed persons called him, they forced him inside the Jeep at gun-point and later took him towards the foothill of Baruni.

There the armed persons interrogated Jayanta about the brothers and sisters he have, the occupation of his parents, whether they are in Government service and the telephone number of his house.

But Jayanta replied that there is no telephone at his house and no one in the family is into Government service.

As the jeep which had brought them at Baruni foothill had already left, they were walking down together when the suspicion of some workers who were present there was raised and they raised an alarm forcing the armed abductors to flee.

The workers finally brought Jayanta to his home.

On the other hand, quoting family sources, our Churachandpur correspondent reports that a mentally retarded 10-year old identified as Samuel of Rengkai wearing a green pant has been missing since June 28 last.
