SDSA demands withdrawal of Commandos, IRBs

Imphal, May 09 2010: The senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has demanded immediate withdrawal of Manipur Police Commandos and IRBs from the Naga dominated areas.

If the government fails to do so, the SDSA will not continue to be patient and will resort to any form of democratic agitation.

This was informed by president of SDSA, A Pfokrehrii Khrasi in a press release today.

While expressing condolence to the bereaved families on the killing of Chakho and Loshou of Kalinamai at Mao gate on May 6, the SDSA stated that it condemns the action of the state forces.

In spite of the fact that the situation at Mao was volatile and sensitive, the attitude of the State Government through the Cabinet decision to reaffirm its stand has resulted to the present situation.

For which the SPF led Congress Government under CM Ibobi should be held for any untoward consequences in teh coming days of the prevailing situation, the press release added.
