Imphal, March 04: A public meeting held at Yairipok Leirongthel Bitra today has unanimously endorsed hanging to death all the police commandos involved in the alleged custodial torture and molestation of Maibam Naobi Chanu as an exemplary punishment to dissuade anybody from committing such crime in future.

The meeting presided over by retired teacher Laishram Babu also demanded Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to relinquish his post if he could not award befitting punishment to the guilty police commandos within March 10.The meeting organised under the aegis of Leirongthel Bitra Youth Defence Organisation further demanded dismissal of the Judicial Magistrate concerned who encourages the police commandos in their beastly act on the innocent girl.

The meeting attended by a large number of people coming from as far as Nongbram, Nunggaipokpi,.

Leirongthel Mamang, Malom, etc also endorsed launching a mass hunger strike and social boycott of the Government if the it fails to fulfil these demands within six days from today.

Towards the end of the meeting, the angry people shouted slogan denouncing the beastly act committed by the police commandos.
