NSCN (IM) probes kidnapping case

Imphal, January 04: A high power committee led by a cabinet minister of NSCN (IM) has launched an investigation into the kidnapping of two class III students of Don Bosco School, Senapati.

Talking to The Sangai Express about the kidnapping of Muheni Martin and AH Hubert on December 14 for ransom, deputy kilonser of NSCN (IM) K Chawang informed that six individuals suspected to be involved in the kidnapping of the kids are in the custody of the outfit.

Moreover, a high power committee led by a cabinet minister (MIP) Johny has launched an investigation into the kidnapping case, he disclosed.

When asked about the progress of the investigation, the deputy kilonser, however, refused to divulge further details.

Saying that the Chairman of the outfit Issac Shi Swu is now at Hebron, he said that its General Secretary Th Muivah may arrive in Nagaland next week after meeting the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

To another query, K Chawang said that there was no plan for the NSCN (IM) general secretary to visit Manipur.

However, as per the existing plan, Th Muivah would attend a mass consultation programme at Hebron.

The deputy kilonser remarked that the peace parleys between NSCN (IM) and the Government of India have reached a very crucial stage.

Only the outstanding issues are being negotiated at the present stage, he said.
