Imphal, March 01: Protesting the alleged inaction and indifference of the State Government towards the kidnapping of two Don Bosco School, Senapati kids Hrini Hubert and Moheni Martin by unidentified persons and their continued detention till date, a four day State-wide bandh called by the Core Committee on Two Missing Boys came into force today morning.

Even though there is no report of untoward incident today, trucks and buses were stranded at Mao gate and normal lives were affected in Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts.

All commercial establishments and markets in these three districts remained closed today.

Public vehicles plying in these districts stayed off the roads.

Most educational institutes remained closed.

However, the bandh had little impact in other districts including Imphal.

All major commercial establishments and market complexes in Imphal city were opened as usual.

Transport service was not affected and normal attendance was recorded in all the Government Departments.

It may be mentioned here that the two class III students were kidnapped for ransom on December 14 last year.

Urging for the safe release of the innocent kids, many civil societies and NGOs have been staging sit-in-protest and taking out rallies besides imposing general strikes.
