Source: Manipur Mail

Imphal, March 30: Rev Dr Pongsing, Director of Nagaland Development Outreach and Chairman Confederation of Nagaland Development NGOs today said in an appeal that the Nagaland Development Outreach and the Confederation of Nagaland Development NGOs have learnt that a German National from EED who came to Manipur to oversee the ongoing development works carried out through various NGOs in Manipur was kidnapped by one armed group recently and is still not released yet.

Since the EED is a Protestant church based development organization which is actively engaged in development work for the upliftment of the rural poor in many part of the world and particularly North east India, the Nagaland Development Outreach and Confederation of Nagaland Development NGOs appealed to the group concerned who kidnapped the staff of EED at Imphal to kindly release him unharm in an early date.

This good gesture will certainly pave the way for many other funding agencies to come forward for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized in north eastern India.
