Imphal, January 27: Senior Communist leader and CPI candidate from Wangjing Tentha AC, Dr M Nara today said the CPI is poised to make a come back in the political arena of Manipur and added that the left party will do much better than the poor showing in the last Assembly election where it failed to send up a single MLA in the Assembly.

Talking to newsmen at Irabot Bhawan today, Dr Nara who is also a member of the National Executive of CPI, said the party is optimistic of putting a good show at the upcoming hustings.

He however did not predict how many seats the party would win.

CPI will extend all possible assistance and cooperation to build a new Manipur once the new Government is installed, assured Dr Nara.

CPI will also not re-admit any defectors.

Casting aspersions on some candidates, Dr Nara said some candidates have started distributing money on the sly to buy votes.

M Ibohal, chairman of the CPI Election Committee said to root out corruption a people's uprising is needed.
