BJP observes Manipur Solidarity Day

Imphal, June 23 2010: In protest against the repeated attempts of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaac-Muvah) and its frontal organizations to disintegrate Manipur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today observed a sit-in protest at its Nityapat Chuthek office.

It was participated by the office bearers and workers of BJP Manipur Pradesh.

The protest was observed as 'Manipur Solidarity Day'.

The participants remained in fast during the observance.

Taking part in the observance, the former president of BJP Manipur Pradesh and ex-speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Dr..HBorobabu said that the BJP will oppose any attempt to disturb the age-old fraternity existing between the different communities of Manipur so as to appease the NSCN(IM) and as a solution to the so-called Indo-Naga peace process.

Manipur Solidarity Day was observed in furtherance of the announcement made by BJP national president, Nitin Gadkari during the party's national executive meeting held at Patna from June 12 to 16.The day also coincided with the death of BJP leader, Dr.Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
