Imphal, July 22: Reacting to the accusations of the NSCN (K) that it was involved in the economic blockade called by the All Naga Students' Association and NSF as well as in dismantling the Irang bridge at Tamenglong on July 20, the CAO of the Zeliangrong region of the GPRN, MK Winning today said that the allegation is totally unfounded and baseless.

Speaking to the press, Winning said that some Central leaders of the NSCN (IM) did visit Tamenglong but it was to oversee the law and order situation and had nothing to do with the economic blockade.

In fact, the GPRN is very much concerned over the economic blockade launched by the student bodies, he asserted.

The Irang bridge was dismantled by the blockade supporters as the Government was using force to violate the imposition of the blockade, he maintained and added that the question of the NSCN (IM) men being involved in the sabotage does not arise.

The NSCN (IM) is presently involved in a peace talk with the Government of India, said Winning and added that they have not and will not violate the cease fire ground rules.

The economic blockade is a people's agitation and the NSCN (IM) is not involved in it in any way, he further said.

Hours after the Irang bridge was dismantled in the wee hours of January 20, the spokesman of the NSCN (K) had accused the NSCN (IM) of working hands in gloves with ANSAM in enforcing the economic blockade.
