Imphal, June 16, 2010: A group of unidentified armed persons who came in a light vehicle have attacked and dismantled the residence of an Independent candidate who contested in the recently held Autonomous District Council election in Manipur's Senapati district,sources said.

Sources reaching here further claimed that the incident took place at the native village of the Independent candidate Sh Dany of Kodom Khullen,around 20 km west of Purul sub-division at around 11.30 pm of June 14 last.

The RCC building of the candidate was severely damaged during the incident, it said and added that however there's no report of any casualty among the family members who were present during incident.

Mention may be made here that Manipur's tribal development minister DD Thaisii's residence at Senapati district headquarters,60 km north of Imphal and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee's president and sitting MLA Gaikhangam's at Tamenglong district headquarters,150 km west of Imphal were also set on fire by some unidentified persons in the recent times.
