All pol party meet urges AICC

Imphal, February 12: Following the strong protest voiced against the inclusion of the demand for a Greater Lim in the election manifesto of Nagaland Congress, the State Government today convened an All Political Party (APP) meeting to discuss the issue, said a statement issued by the Chairman of the APP, Chief Minister O Ibobi.

During the meeting it was agreed that the AICC would be urged to delete the controversial line which reads as..

"The Indian National Congress in Nagaland will continue to urge upon the Government of India the need to implement the 16-point Agreement of 1960 in letter and spirit".

The APP also condemned the alleged statement of AICC secretary Siddharth Patil on the 16 point Agreement of 1960, said the statement and added that the APP welcomed the decision taken by the State Cabinet to uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur.

The APP has also appealed all sections of the society of Manipur to maintain peace and tranquility in the face of the circumstances.
