Imphal, May 06 2009: United Committee Manipur (UCM) organised a get-together programme for the new office executives of 2009-20012 tenure and representatives of its component, subsidiary and affiliated bodies.

The programme which was held at its conference hall was presided over by its president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar.

Retired Senior Grade Lecturer H Kulla and former UCM president K Lanngamba were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

A press statement of UCM said that the main idea of organising the programme was to bring unity, integrity and peaceful coexistence amongst the communities of the State.

The gathering resolved to intensify the ongoing UCM's endeavour in this regard.

The gathering also resolved to continue UCM's efforts to contribute its bit to bring development in different parts of the State by venturing to remote areas.

It would not be possible to break the territorial integrity of the State until UCM exists, and the body will face all threats in this regard, the statement promised.

Speaking in the programme, Yumnamcha Dilipkumar alleged that the Government is playing divide and rule policy amongst the small armed groups of the State.

He also said that CSOs must stay alert from such tactics.

UCM will look hill and valley equally in taking up its programmes according to the wishes of the people, he added.
