Imphal, February 04: Former Chief Minister and Samata Party leader Radhabinod Koijam today assured that if the Samata comes to power after the hustings it would initiate political dialogues with all the hill based and valley based underground outfits operating in the State.

Facing media persons at the Meet the Press programmes organized by All Manipur Working Journalists Union at Manipur Press Club today, Koijam predicted that Samata will emerge the single largest party after the election and went on to add that the first task of the Samata led Government would be to initiate dialogue with all underground outfits.

Priorities would also be placed on tackling the menace of corruption and efforts would be made to improve the acute financial crisis besetting Manipur, he said.

The former Chief Minister further said that it is imperative that sincere efforts are made to foster communal harmony and amity amongst the different communities who have been living together as one for ages.

Replying, to queries on the constant party hopping and defection games indulged in by the political leaders.

Radhabinod said that Samata is wedded to the principle of not engineering defections from the smaller parties.

If the same defection -game and party hopping as witnessed in the last Assembly is repeated now, it would spell the death knell of Manipur, observed Radhabinod.
