Imphal, May 27 2010: Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam today said that taking advantage from someone else's deed by others happened in the Secular Front Government referring to the much publicised travel of Minister Y Irabot on NH-53 to Jiribam without mentioning the name of the Food Minister, Y Irabot.

When the minister's tour coincided with the government's arrangement for escorting the freight trucks with the determination of dealing with the scarcity of essential commodities prevailing in the state due to the indefinite economic blockade on the national highways made the minister hero of the state, he said.

The deputy chairman further speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of Uchekon Laikon at Kongba Nandeibam Leikai and three market-sheds at Chongabi Bazar observed that the government had already arranged for escorting the freight trucks stranded at Jiribam and Silchar owing to the economic blockade.

He made himself the hero.

It was not a thing which is to be done.

Government is trying its best to relief the people from the woes of economic blockade, he said.

General Secretary of NSCN (IM), Th Muivah can enter the state as a Manipuri but government will not be acceptable to enter him in the state with his agenda of breaking the territorial integrity of the state to make Greater Nagaland, Bijoy said.

He also said that if there is shortage of security personnel for escorting trucks plying on the NH-53 in ferrying essential commodities in the state, the house cum personal escort from him can be taken out and utilize as escort security.

Turning towards the people of his constituency, Bijoy said that he is always ready to extend all kinds of assistance in taking up developmental and welfare works of the people of Thongju Assembly Constituency.

Water lift irrigation schemes in Thongju A/C have been failed as contractors had not controlled the quality of the works at the time of construction of the schemes and pradhans of the respective areas not taking kin interest at the time of making.

He also talked on various developmental works he wanted to take up in his constituency with the funds from his local area development funds.

The inaugural function was presided over by the pradhan of Uchekon Kha Nongchup Gram Panchayat W Birlal and member of zilla parishad T Ranbir and BDO, Imphal east Th Priyokumar as guests of honour.
