NSF meetings in state

Imphal, July 24 2010: Nagaland based students body, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), has started holding consultative meetings in Naga dominated hill areas of Manipur from today.

The consultative meetings were held at Ukhrul and Chandel district today.

The meeting at town hall at Ukhrul district headquarters slated from 11 am till around 1 pm today and was attended by president of the NSF, Mutsikhoyo Yhobu, reports said adding that another meeting was also held at Chandel district headquarters.

The meeting at Ukhrul town, attended by representatives of students' bodies in the district, has reportedly resolved to severe ties with the government of Manipur and extends all kinds of cooperation with the effort towards bringing Naga inhabitant areas under one political administrative unit.

The NSF team led by its president arrived at Ukhrul district headquarters through the Kohima-Jesami road while another team of the same student body proceeded on the NH-39 yesterday for Chandel and Senapati districts.

Sources said that the seven to eight light vehicles boarded by NSF members had proceeded on NH-39 yesterday afternoon to organised series of consultative meetings with leaders of various Naga based students and civil organisation.

Some of the vehicles reached Chandel district headquarters.

They were coming here to hold consultative meetings in the areas on the issue of integration of Naga inhabitant area under one administrative unit, police intelligence source observed.

However, the source refused to divulge how long the team will stay and hold consultative meetings.
