Imphal, April 24: A Sub Deputy Collector (SDC) attached to the Chandel District Election Office has been suspended today .after being found neglecting duties during the recent Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat polls.

The suspended SDC has been identified as N Ibomcha.

It may be noted here that Deputy Commissioner Chandel AK Sinha who is also the Assistant Returning Officer had issued an order regarding the suspension yesterday.

The order further mentioned that a fine of Rs 500 would also be imposed on N Ibomcha.

Meanwhile, repolls would be held for polling station No 41/22 Phiral Khullen under Chandel district on April 26 as votes casted during the polls exceeded the actual number of voters of the polling stations.

The polling station totaled 212 votes compared to only 211 listed for the polling station.

According to another report from the Election Control Room, repolls were smoothly conducted at 22 polling stations in Senapati district and four in Chtfrachandpur today.

Sources further informed that repolls would be conducted in 85 polling stations under Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Jiri-bam constituencies on April 30.Our CCpur correspondent adds: The repolling conducted today at four polling stations in Churachandpur district passed off without any incidents.

The four stations are Lhangjang, Tuilumjang, Vungbuk and T Boljang.

The exact number of votes cast at the four centres could not be known till late evening as the polling party have not reported at the DC Office.

There are also 13 other polling centres in the district under Tipaimukh sub division where repoll will be held on April 30, 2004.
