Imphal, June 20 2010: As a fallout of the Manipur transporters' decision not to ply transport vehicles on National Highway 39 from Dimapur most commercial vehicles avoid taking this route fearing reprisals from the transporters.

But today seven trucks loaded with fertilizers after passing through Nagaland were escorted by the personnel of Sekmai Police from Charharjar to Imphal.

Some loaded trucks are seen putting up at Kanglatombi and other areas.

Their loads are unloaded on smaller vehicles and then transported to different destinations.

The personnel of Sekmai Police waited for the arrival of the seven trucks at Charharjar and then they are taken to Sekmai Police Station.

From there a team of security personnel from Imphal escorted them to Imphal arriving safely in the evening today.

According to Police it is not known whether the owners of the seven trucks are related to the Manipur transporters who are against plying commercial vehicles on National Highway 39 by passing through Nagaland.
