Imphal, February 20: CPI State Council Secretary P Parijat today expressed fear that poll related violence will step up after the declaration of election results.

Speaking to reporters at Irawat Bhavan this morning, Parijat who is the party candidate in Lamlai A/c said post-result violence is sure to come due as a result of the election malpractices undertaken by certain candidates in collusion with some underground groups.

He urged the Government to give proper attention to the aspect.

Predicting that his party will win at least 5-6 seats in the elections for which voting was held on February 14, he said that CPI will ally with a stable party to form government.

The party is ready to go together with NCP, Congress, NNP and DPP.

However he ruled out striking alliance with either BJP or other NDA partners, he said adding that CPI does not take FPM as a political party as it was formed by the defectors.

To a question, Parijat said that around 5-6 parties will be involved in Government formation after the polls and the single largest majority party will have 12-13 MLAs.

He said the size of the ministry should be reduced.

The defectors who had left their original parties are the seeds of corruption.
