Imphal, December 16: In its relentless quest for Naga integration, a team of delegates comprising of UNC executives, Tribe Hoho presidents and leaders of civil societies have submitted several copies of memoranda to many Cabinet Ministers of the Union Government, the overriding agenda of which was their firm conviction that any honourable solution to the vexed Naga Peace process must begin with the unification of Naga inhabited areas.

In a statement United Naga Council informed that towards this end a non-cooperation and civil disobedience movement against the Government of Manipur has been launched since November 4 this year.

The term of negotiation towards a final settlement has been the sole prorogation of the collective leadership, added the statement while endorsing the ongoing peace process to find a negotiated political settlement between the Government of India and the Nagas.

Claiming that the New Delhi sojourn was a success, it informed that the delegates met Defence Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, Tribal Affairs and DONER Minister, P R Kyndiah, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, MPs Rishang Keishing and Wungyu Konyak, MOS (Home) Regupathy, MP T R Zeliang, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, general secretary of CPI, A B Bhardan, leader of the opposition L K Advani , MOS (PMO), Prithiviraj Chavan and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

MP from the outer Lok Sabha constituency of Manipur, Mani Cheranamei was among the delegates in all the meetings with the central leaders, it mentioned.
