Imphal, May 14 2010: The state Governor, Gurbachan Jagat today met the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram in New Delhi today.

Though it is not exactly known what could have been discussed between the two at the meeting, it is understood that they might have discussed the prevailing situation in the state and in the Manipur-Nagaland border.

The Governor would have reiterated the State Government's stand vis-a-vis the proposed visit of NSCN-IM leader Th Muivah to Manipur's Naga inhabited areas including his native village Somdal in Ukhrul district.

The meeting took place at about 3 pm, reports received from Delhi said.

Meanwhile, a group of Naga students including girls from Nagaland submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat at Manipur Bhavan at Sardar Patel Marg in New Delhi around 4.30 pm today.

The students from Nagaland came in an official vehicle belonging to the Nagaland Bhavan in New Delhi proving that the Government of Nagaland fully supports the actions of the Naga students, the reports said.

It may be recalled here that a large number of Naga students from Nagaland and Manipur had stormed the same Manipur Bhavan on two occasions earlier.

They had staged protest demonstration against the state government's refusal to allow NSCN-IM leader Th Muivah to visit Manipur and had shouted slogans.

The Naga students turned violent on the second occasion and damaged and turned some vehicles of the Bhavan upside down.
