Churachandpur, May 24 2010: The Kuki National Organization (KNO) has announced three regulations for the smooth functioning of the ensuing Autonomous District Council election in the state to ensure public peace and orderly atmosphere, according to a statement issued by Th Stephen Kuki, Under Secretary, Publicity & Information, KNO.

Stephen Kuki stated that even as the Government of Manipur, after a gap of two decades, resolved to strengthen the local self government by preparing for the Councillors' election on May 26, the KNO would like to issue a strict and mandatory compliance for all to ensure and facilitate the passage of the true spirit of democracy in the state.

The KNO asserted that canvassing of votes whether in the name and style of organization(s) or individuals by way of threats, intimidations or unruly form is strictly prohibited.

Capturing of polling booth for one's advantage will be dealt with seriously.

Each voter at their liberty should courageously exercise their franchise in consonance with the provisions of the Constitution of India.

KNO also take this opportunity to convey its warmest congratulations to all uncontested winners from different constituencies to their respective councils in their tryst to prove public accountability endowed upon them, Stephen Kuki said.
