Makunga yet to submit expenditure statement

Imphal, April 18: Out of the six candidates contesting in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat, five candidates have submitted their expenditure statements to the expenditure observer, disclosed an official source.

Sources further informed that NTC candidate Morung Makunga has not submitted his expenditure statement to the expenditure observer Sanjeev Prakash till today.

Besides issuing an order today instructing for immediate submission of the expenditure statement, returning officer Y Surchandra has also convened a meeting at the DC Imphal West office Lamphel on April 20 to discuss matters relating to the submission of expenditure statement by the Inner candidates.

Meanwhile, RO Imphal West has also issued a notification today asking all the inner candidates to send their authorised candidates at the office of the DC Imphal West at 11.30 am tomorrow as ECIL engineers would conducting a class on the usage and maintenance of the Electronic Voting Machines which will be used during the upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, RO Imphal West has handed over the charge of Flood reliefs to the ADM T Lhouvum as it was against the election model code of conduct to hold two post.

RO Imphal West also issued a notification yesterday asking all the flood affected people to address their woes to the ADM.

Sources also said that election observers will be inspecting all the preparations works taken up by the authorities concerned tomorrow in connection with the outer polls which has been scheduled on April 20.Election observers KK Sinha, PL Dutta, Parmesh Dutta and Sanjeev Prakash will be inspecting Churchandpur, Chandel and Thoubal, Senapati and Kangpokpi and Moreh respectively.
