Imphal, June 16: The Salai Apunba Nupi Lup has demanded action against all the Deputy Commissioners concerned for allowing the United Naga Council (UNC)-sponsored Solidarity rally to be taken out in the hill districts despite the restrictions clamped down by the State Government.

Talking to mediapersons at its Chingamakha office today, Lup president Th Ibethoi Devi said the State Government should take up action against the Deputy Commissioners and other officials concerned of the district administration for allowing the rallies to be held.

The fact that the rallies were taken out in the hill districts and memoranda submitted to the Deputy Commissioners despite the ban imposed and in complete defiance of the large number of security forces which were pressed into action shows the inherent weakness of the Government, she maintained.

On the other hand, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh who is the leader of the ruling SPF Government should be held the responsible for any untoward incident which might occur as an outcome of the restriction imposed on gathering of people at Kekrupat on the occasion of June 18 observance, she said.
