Imphal, March 16: The Kuki Students' Organisation Chandel district has strongly condemned the proscribed UNLF/MPA for allegedly killing one Holkhothang Mate alias Senpu/Pasen of Gilgal Veng Moreh ward no 1 in the wee hours of March 15 at border area of T Minou village.

While maintaining the deceased to be innocent, a release of the student body's secretary information & publicity James Baite informed that the slain man was engaged in repairing dilapidated road of DC New Samtal as a labour under the supervision of the Shaktiman Owners & Drivers Association Moreh.

Detailing the event, the statement charged that it occurred while Holkhothang was on his way to fetch water in the morning at around 4 when the UNLF/MPA cadres dashed towards the man and shot him to death without any prior question, while the other laborours had to take shelter at the nearby village till 10 am and reached Moreh via Assam Rifles camp later in the evening.

Terming such act as unlawful, the student body appealed to the UG concerned to abstain from killing innocent civilians in the future.

Extending condolence to the deceased and the security personnel of 24 Assam Rifles, who the student body claimed to be fighting against unlawful activists for national integrity of India, the release also appealed the Government to provide exgratia to the deceased family as per the law of the land at the earliest possible.
