Imphal, March 14: The first Legislature Party meeting of the SPF Government led by Congress was held tonight at the conference hall of the Chief Minister's residence with coordination on the Assembly floor and the post of the Speaker as the main agenda.

However, MPCC (I) president Gaikhangam was absent in the meeting as he has gone to Delhi.

The SPF Legislature Party meet presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi was also not attended by RJD and NPP MLAs who are supporting the SPF Government.

According to some CLP members, the MPCC (I) president's trip to Delhi is to discuss some party matters with AICC leaders including Sonia Gandhi.

His trip is not related to the disagreements within the CLP, they clarified.

However, according to information received by the press, Gaikhangam's trip to Delhi is very much related to the recent impasse among the Congress MLAs over the CLP leader.
