Imphal, November 12: EJ Kochekkan VSM Commander 9th Sector Assam Rifles has expressed his deep shock and grief over the gruesome killing of Lungnila Elizabeth.

In a statement, Commander Kochekkan asserted that the bright and budding future of a young girl has been put to a premature end by the dastardly act.

Such inhumane atrocity on an innocent child shows the sick mentality of the perpetrators, added the statement.

Time has come for every right thinking citizen to consider whether such reprehensible acts are to be permitted by the civilized society in Manipur, said the commander.

He also shared the grief of the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant them fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

Communist Party of India (M) Manipur State Committee has strongly condemned the killing of the child as an inhuman and barbaric act.

In a statement the Committee asserted that the killing of the young girl was a direct challenge to the unity and integrity of the people of the State.

It also urged the authorities concerned to trace the killers immediately and punish them according to the laws of the land.

Expressing its deep resentment over the State Govt's inability to rescue the kidnapped girl alive during the last eight days, the committee urged all the politicians to abstain from politicizing the unfortunate incident.

The committee while condoling death of the young girl also shares the pain and sorrow of the family members of Lungnila.

Lok Sabha MP Th Chaoba has also expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief at the brutal murder of Lungnila Elizabeth by her kidnappers.

Lamenting at the Govt's inability to rescue the kidnapped girl alive, Chaoba urged the authorities concerned to take up necessary measures to prevent similar kidnapping in future.

He also demanded the Govt to make the post mortem report as well as the identity of the suspects arrested available to the public.

Describing the killing of Lungnila Elizabeth as a horrendous act, Manipur Students' Federation has appealed to the State Govt to trace the killers of the young girl and punished them accordingly for their crime.

Asserting that this unfortunate incident was a big lesson for the people of the State, the Federation stated that the time has arrived for the public to do something concrete to prevent similar incident in future.

The All Manipur Bar Association has strongly condemned the killing of Lungnila Elizabeth, an innocent student of Little Flower School by unidentified kidnappers, said a press release.

The release also urged the authorities concerned to take up necessary measures to prevent similar acts in future.

AMBA members also shares the sorrow and grief of the family members of the deceased Lungnila.

Manipur State Council All India Youth Federation while strongly denouncing the killing of Lungnila Elizabeth has sought the cooperation and support of the public in tracing the killers of the young innocent girl.

It also appealed to the State Govt to take up appropriate measures and trace the killers so that befitting punishment could be awarded to them.

Students Federation of India Manipur State Committee has also strongly condemned the killing of Lungnila Elizabeth.

Terming the act as a terrorist attack on the student community, SFI stated that it would not remain a silent spectator when the lives of the student community are threatened but would take necessary measures to prevent similar episodes in future.

It also appealed to the State Govt to immediately trace the killers and book the culprits.

DC Chandel AK Sinha, Phungyar Kendra MLA Wungnaoshang Keishing and Amrik Singh Pahwa while condemning the killing has termed the act as heinous and shameful which has not place in a civilized society.

Strongly condemning the killing of Lungnila, Lambulane Youth Union and staff and proprietor of Hrangchal Gas Agency have also expressed their condolence to the family members of the young girl.

Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the killing of young Lungnila Elizabeth by her kidnappers, All Manipur Democratic Women Assn has termed the killing as an act of cowardice which should not be made to repeat again in future.

The Assn also appealed to all the people of the State to be united in this turbulent times and check the sinister designs of the enemies who are hell bent on creating a rift among the different communities in the State.
