KNF rounds up two impostors

Imphal, July 12: Two imposters rounded up by armed cadres of mobile troops of KNF for allegedly exhorting money from the vehicles along National Highway 39 in the name of the outfit were paraded in front of mediapersons somewhere in Kangpokpi area today.

The accused identified as Lengkholun Haokip (23) and Deminthang Haokip (26), both residents of Kangpokpi have been allegedly frequently extorting money from the vehicles running along the National Highway or abducting people in the name of KNF.

According to an spokesperson of the outfit Boyson, the two accused abducted the driver and conductor of the Tata truck (WB-57/9498) on July 8 and demanded money in the name of KNF.

The driver was released earlier and after an agreement set free the conductor only yesterday.

Both of them would remain in the custody of the outfit for further interrogation, the spokesperson informed adding that the two imposters were former KRA members.
