Imphal, June 12 2010: The tangkhul Coordination Committee (TCC) of various Tangkhul frontal organisations based in Ukhrul has said that the state government's failure to pull out IRBs and police commandos from Ukhrul and undermining the sentiments of Nagas will compel the TCC to launch agitation for which the DC, Ukhrul and SP, Ukhrul will be held solely responsible.

In a press release, Tennoson Pheiray, Media & Publicity Wing, TCC asked the DC and the SP a few questions.

First, he asked why DC and SP of Ukhrul were still silent over the re-deployment of Manipur Police Commandos and IRBs at Jessami village whereas the said forces were supposed to be withdrawn from Ukhrul headquarter and areas mentioned in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) of June 2 signed by the DC and the SP themselves.

Secondly, the state forces have already created havoc among the people at Mao Gate on May 6 and Ukhrul town on June 2.Then, the TCC asked why the DC and the SP were remaining as silent spectators to the re-deployment of IRBs and Commandos at Jessami village.

Third, the TCC wants to know what actions are going to be taken against the security personnel involved in the Ukhrul incident.

Their indiscriminate firing and tear-gasing continuously for more than two hours had left 19 civilians injured on June 2, the press release said.
