However, Nupi Samaj has expressed strong resentment over the conduct of the family members in casting aspersion.

The girl identified as RK Mamta had been reportedly handed over to CADA and Nupi Samaj by the club of Singjamei Mathak Chingtham Leikai after she escaped and landed at a shop.

Talking to mediapersons at the office of Nupi Samaj today in connection with the incident, secretary organisation of Nupi Samaj P Subita informed that after the girl landed in a shop at Singjamei Mathak Chingtham Leikai, the shopkeeper and the local club reported the matter to CADA and CADA in turned informed the Nupi Samaj whose volunteers went to picked up the girl at around 9 pm yesterday.

Subsequently, the Nupi Samaj contacted the family members of the girl.

At around midnight, four persons including a man who identified himself as the uncle of the girl and sometime as the father came to take possession of the girl.

As the claim of the man was doubtful, Nupi Samaj refused to hand over the girl if her real parents do not turned up, thus leading to some argument over the matter.

When the parents of the girl and the representatives of the school authorities arrived, the girl was finally handed over to them after midnight, Subita informed.

Aheibam Aim Singh in whose grocery shop, the girl had come for help after being escaped from her kidnappers, who was also present during the meeting with mediapersons informed after recounting her ordeal the girl requested for sending her to her sister's place at Uripok though she is from Thangmeiband Polem Leikai.
