Newspaper office 'fired' upon

Imphal, August 06 2009: Suspected police commandos 'fired a shot' at the Sega Road office of Paojel, an eveninger, at around 7.50 pm today.

On hearing the news, many mediapersons gathered at the office of Paojel.

MLA Bijoy Koijam and Senior SP of Imphal West District L Kailun also arrived at the scene to inspect.

SSP Kailun, however, opined that the hole visible on the upper portion of the glass window of the office does not look like a bullet hole.

Nonetheless, he assured that a case would be registered and the matter would be investigated.

Later, a team of mediapersons led by president of AMWJU Sagolsem Hemant went to lodge a complaint with the Chief Minister on the incident.
