Imphal, April 05 2009: Noting contradictory remarks of top leaders of All India Congress Committee (AICC) the Manipur People's Party (MPP) legislator Okram joy Singh has questioned commitment of the Congress party in upholding interest of the people of Manipur.

recounting assertion of AICC general secretary Sidhartha sometimes back to translate into action election manifesto of the Nagaland State Congress party for integration of Naga inhabited areas under a single administrative unit and the recent assurance by Rahul Gandhi at an election rally in Churachandpur district to protect territorial integrity of manipur, O joy described contradictory stands of the AICC leaders as misleading and mocking sentiment of manipuris.

While urging the electorates to support Th Chaoba who is the common candidate of four political parties, the seasoned politician opined that Congress candidates in the forthcoming election do deserve mandate of people of the State as the Congress party apart from endorsing Naga integration stand of the United Naga Integration Council under an agreement in 1972, the Congress MP elected in the previous polls remained silent when the issue of naga integration that pose threat to manipur's territorial integrity was debated in the indian Parliament.
