Hills divide on ADC polls palpable

Lamka, April 28 2010: Following the reception accorded to the ADC poll notification here, the district, having 24 MDC seats, and five sub-divisions witnessed an encouraging response with more than a hundred aspirants claiming the nomination forms within two days of its issuance.

Nomination forms for the 12 MDC seats under Churachandpur sub-division and 3 each from the remaining five sub-divisions of Tipaimukh, Henglep, Thanlon and Singngat were issued since yesterday at the DC's conference hall here.

With five nomination papers requested for Thanlon ADC Constituency so far, it remains the highest sought after seat while Hiangtam Lamka and Sagang in Churachandpur sub-division and Muollum in Singngat and Senvon in Tipaimukh sub-divisions followed suit with three forms issued against each constituency.

Kholmun in Churachandpur and Leimatak in Henglep sub-division remains the least sought after seats with 2 from each constituency.

None of the 107 aspiring candidates who had so far sought the nomination forms had however submitted their nomination by 3PM today, the official closing time for any working day.
