Imphal, February 27: Apart from the surprise wins and losses that were witnessed in the just announced results of the election to the 9th Assembly, there were other interesting details as well.

The candidate who earned the dubious distinction of polling the least number of votes goes to M Sokhopao Haokip of the MPP in Chandel AC.

He received only 10 votes.

On the other hand the honour of receiving the highest number of votes goes to Th Shyamkumar of the MPP who polled 18,388 to emerge the run away winner in Andro AC.

Significantly, Shyamkumar is currently in jail after he was arrested from New Delhi airport some time back.

The honour of recording a win by the highest margin goes to Moirangthem Okendro of Congress who tallied 13,775 at Heirok AC.

His nearest rival, N Sovakiran of the MPP could manage only 247 votes.

Interestingly, Sovakiran is the sitting MLA.

The difference is a whooping 13,528 votes.

Md Allauddin Khan of the INC from Keirao Assembly Constituency recorded the win with the most narrow margin.

He polled 7648 to MSCP's K Thamarjit's 7646. The margin is 2, repeat 2. Though there were eight women candidates in the fray, none of them were elected.
