Flood relief measure on in full swing

Imphal, August 24: The Joint Flood Relief Committee with AMUCO as the convenor and formed by 14 different voluntary organizations of Khwairamband bazar has taken up flood relief measures on a war footing distributing rice, dal and other essential commodities to the flood affected people.

The Committee today distributed, rice, dal and other essential goods to the people who have taken refuge in relief camps at Samurou and the adjoining areas.

Around 500 people are staying at the relief camps put up around this place.

A number of people are still taking shelter under make shift homes on either side of the road at Mayai Lambi between the Hiyanglam and Sekmaijin.

Fifty bags of rice, 30 kgs of dal, 20 packets of salt and bleaching powder were distributed to the relief camp set up at Hiyanglam Primary Health Centre.

During the last two days, the Committee has distributed 105 rice bags, 10 dal bags and drinking water in two tankers.
